The Poarch Band of Creek Indians (PCI) donated $3.5 million to its new political action committee (PAC) on Wednesday.

The new PCI PAC was registered in September with the Alabama Secretary of State's office, ahead of the upcoming 2026 election cycle in Alabama, which features competitive legislative, constitutional and judicial offices.

Gambling legislation supported by PCI was brought up continually in media reports during the 2025 session, but it was never officially filed in bill form and didn't become law. The proposal reportedly included sports betting, a lottery, six Class II casinos and a compact with the Poarch Creek Indians.

A gambling and lottery constitutional amendment opposed by PCI fell one vote short of passing the Senate in 2024 after passing the House.

PCI chair and CEO Stephanie Bryan and executive vice president of Business Development and Government Relations for Wind Creek Hospitality Arthur Mothershed are listed as chairperson and treasurer of the PCI PAC.
