Editorial: Jay Jones is on the ballot twice

At last Tuesday's sheriff candidate forum, Jay Jones stated more than once that the sheriff's most important job is keeping the county safe. Last Wednesday there was an illegal, previously arrested, criminal alien from Guatemala running around our county kidnapping, raping, and shooting deputies with an AK47 rifle. However, Jay Jones thinks he needs to be more involved in politics, so he is running for Republican committee position.
I am not sure how that will make Lee County safer. It appears that he likes the prestige of titles but not the work. Maybe that's why he won't participate in the 287G program that is a tool to help rid our county of aliens that commit crimes. Participating in 287G program would only require a small amount of effort by the Sheriff and make us safer. It's obviously time for some more youthful and energetic leadership. I want a lawman, not a politician.

What ppl don't seem to understand is the fact that Lee Co. is nothing but a glorified HOA. We own nothing. We haven't been truly free since 1868, when the United States went from a Republic with Sovereign Citizens to a Corporation with indentured Servants (slaves). If you read the O.T., you can compare it to the Hebrews in Egypt. They were slaves to the Pharoah, and their taskmasters were their own kinsmen assigned by him. The current race for Sheriff is merely us supposedly picking our taskmaster to enforce the Laws set by other taskmasters, located mainly in Birmingham and meeting in Montgomery. Jones gets a salary and benefits somewhere close to $100k. Not bad wages for a career…
So what?! There is no conflict. I don’t think Dudley understands what the second position is.
